Asmaa Mahfouz is a 26 year old female from Cairo, Egypt. Mahfouz is credited with being one of the most influential people in the Arab Spring revolutions by helping to spark massive manifestations in Egypt. On January 18th, 2011, Mahfouz posted a video to Facebook, calling all Egyptians to demand human rights and protest the government of Hosni Mubarak at the January 25th demonstrations. The video soon went viral, and was seen as a major contribution in the transition towards an Egyptian democracy.
